Famous Clarinet Players
Anton Stadler (1753 - 1812) is a well known clarinettist because of his amazing playing that inspired Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to write his immensely popular compositions. Mozart and Standler met in 1781, which led to Mozart writing compositions for the clarinet, which at the time the clarinet was a very imperfect instrument. Stadler was very talented with rhis woodwind instrument and durinf this time was one of the best. Johann Simon Hermstedt (1778-1846) was an amazing clarinettist. His tone was beautiful and he had the ability to play almost everything! The composer who wrote his music for him to play was a man by the name of Spohr. He did not care for any difficulties that the player could have with a piece which had an effect on Hermstedt improving the mechanics and ability to play on his instrument. |
